Block: A Letter-Writing RPG
A downloadable game
Block is a letter-writing role-playing about moving through a creative block with tarot cards as your guide. It is a slow game, a loose game, a long-distance game about sharing your thoughts, dreams, and failures with others through intimate spaces of communication.
There are two versions of Block: a one-page version, and a sixteen-page expanded version with sample letters. The former is for those who want less structure and more creative reign, while the latter is for those who want guidance in working through their block. If you're not familiar with tarot, then I suggest trying out the expanded version first, as it has prompts for each card.
The downloads include:
- a stylized, expanded version
- a printer-friendly text version
- a one-page version
If you don't have tarot cards, you can use an online deck generator like tiny tarot. Block was made for Soupbone's PLAY zine. It's my first game, so please feel free to leave some gentle feedback below <3

I love this game! It’s so exciting waiting for the next letter, and writing them is such a treat. I also greatly appreciate the example letters. It seems like a lot of care, enthusiasm, and love went into making this game. I need to go to your profile now and see if you’ve done anything else!
